Poor Man's Hole

Who we are

About Poor Man's Hole

Poor Man's Hole is exactly the kind of shop downtown Swansboro should have — a small, family-owned antique and home goods store packed with pirate-themed pieces, ship lamps, metal work, vintage books, and hand-curated nautical finds. The owner is consistently described as kind and helpful, and the inventory is genuinely unique — the kind of stuff you can't find at a chain or another antique store. Customers come in for a quick browse and end up buying a signed local history book or a vintage victrola. Open Sundays, perfect for a stroll through downtown.

Had so many great little finds. Everything from metal work to a victrola to ship lamps. It maintained a great selection of pirate related items and other ship fare. I was happy to see it open on a Sunday and it made for a great stop for the day.

I always enjoy visiting the store. The owner has a lot of nautical items that are hard to find. I got a few great deals. Local family owned business.

There are some great finds in here but it is a little overpriced. My brother did find a sweet book on the history of Swansboro which he purchased for $50. He seemed pretty happy with it and the book is pretty cool. It was signed by the author. You can tell that each item in the store was definitely chosen because of it's uniqueness. Worth checking out.

Awesome little shop in downtown Swansboro. The owner is super kind and the shop has a lot of cool trinkets and things you wont find elsewhere. It's a little pricey, but some of the things you find in there are worth it. We found a book all about the history of Swansboro which was even signed by the author that we had not found anywhere else.
